"Ireland's most active genealogical society"

An Daonchartlann / Archive

The best facility for genealogy research in Ireland.

The Society’s research centre is located at Loughlinstown Drive in the grounds of the Loughlinstown Leisure Centre.

It is located at the terminus of the 7a bus, and on the route of the 111. There is plenty of car-parking space – just drive around to the back of the main leisure-centre buildings to find us.

Our Opening Hours

((currently closed – usually Wednesdays 11:00 to 15:00 by appointment only)

Saturdays  – Closed for the Winter Months

In our building we have a substantial research room with state-of-the-art computer facilities, printers, document camera, microfilm and microfiche readers. Low-speed broadband is installed, and will be upgraded to high-speed broadband within weeks.

On our computer systems there, we have access for members to all of the very best databases of genealogical information, with experts standing by to help both with searching and interpreting

Our archives have been brought from storage to Loughlinstown and a catalogue is being updated on our extensive collection of books, documents, microfilms, computer disks and other media. The Archives room is the largest room of the premises
